Annabella Proctor is a technologist and entrepreneur based in Orange County, California. She is Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Grayworth, where she leads the development of Gray, a commercial server language and runtime. Her earlier work crossed Java game development, community operations, project management, electrical fieldwork, and systems-infrastructure consulting. She studied business management through Saddleback College and Rutgers Business School and is pursuing computer science and engineering studies at Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Her current work focuses on making deeply integrated server systems direct to build, measure, and operate.
Early technical work
My earliest sustained software work was in Java game development and online communities. At Hypixel, beginning in 2021, I worked around server-side mechanics and community operations. 4 That environment made performance tangible: latency, reliability, and product decisions become part of the player experience.
Between 2023 and 2024, I also worked with Sandbattle Studios and completed a game development and project management internship associated with Riot Games. 4 The work broadened my view from individual features to the cross-functional systems that carry a product.
Business, fieldwork, and infrastructure
My route into systems engineering was not confined to a computer science track. Electrical fieldwork taught me to reason about physical constraints, diagnosis, and responsibility. Business study added a second lens: a system succeeds only when it creates value for the people operating and buying it.
In 2025, I worked in systems-infrastructure consulting and account delivery at DOT GROUP, with responsibilities spanning automation, project coordination, and operational workflows. 4
Grayworth and Gray
In March 2026, I co-founded Grayworth and became its Chief Technology Officer. 1 I lead the development of Gray, a commercial language and runtime for server software. Gray brings the compiler, native runtime, networking, database execution, adaptive replacement, package tooling, and development workflow into one engineering program.
The public Gray record includes pinned same-host comparisons, corrected-latency load tests, long-duration stability gates, database execution studies, sanitizer runs, fuzzing, and explicit limits on what each result proves. 7 That method matters to me as much as any single speed result.
Current focus
I am studying business through Rutgers Business School and computer science and engineering through Rutgers University–New Brunswick. 2 My current work is centered on Gray, the products Grayworth can build on it, and the developer experience required to make low-level capability useful to ordinary product teams.
